The opening ceremony to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France was…fraught. But among the gaudy and the garish, as the ceremony came to a close, Celine Dion suddenly appeared on the Eiffel Tower and sang “Hymne a l’amour.” She had been struggling with stiff-person syndrome and had so had not performed in several years. But despite all that, despite the rain pouring down, she delivered what is perhaps the greatest performance of any song ever.
